Clinical Psychologist Fees & Medicare Rebates
Deciding to seek psychological support is a meaningful and often courageous step. I want to make sure that understanding the cost of care is the last thing standing in your way. This page outlines everything you need to know about my fees, Medicare rebates, and what to expect financially — clearly, honestly, and without jargon.
Consultation Fee
My standard fee for a 50–55 minute individual consultation is:
| Service | Fee (AUD) |
| Individual Consultation — 50 to 55 minutes | $275.00 |
This fee reflects the depth of clinical expertise, the preparation that goes into each session, and the ongoing care provided between appointments. It is not simply a charge for time in the room — it is an investment in evidence-based, personalised psychological care.
For context, the Australian Psychological Society (APS) National Schedule of Suggested Fees 2025–2026 sets the recommended rate for a standard 46–60 minute consultation at $318.00. My fee of $275.00 sits meaningfully below this benchmark — a deliberate choice that reflects my commitment to making high-quality clinical psychology as accessible as possible.
Medicare Rebates for Psychology Sessions
If you hold a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP), you may be eligible to claim a Medicare rebate for your psychology sessions under the Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative.
A Mental Health Treatment Plan is a referral document prepared by your GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician. Once you have this plan in place, you can access Medicare-subsidised sessions with an eligible clinical psychologist.
Because Medicare rebate amounts, eligibility criteria, and the number of claimable sessions per calendar year can vary depending on your individual circumstances, I strongly encourage you to contact Medicare directly before your first appointment. This ensures you have the most accurate and up-to-date information specific to your situation.
Ultimately, determining your eligibility for rebates is a responsibility you have as a consumer. Please contact Medicare Australia for any questions relating to rebates regarding Psychological Consultations provided by this practice.

Understanding Your Out-of-Pocket Cost
The gap fee is the difference between my consultation fee and the Medicare rebate you receive. Your actual out-of-pocket cost will depend on the rebate amount Medicare confirms for your individual circumstances.
To understand exactly what you will pay after your Medicare rebate, I recommend contacting Medicare directly on 132 011 or visiting servicesaustralia.gov.au before your first session. I am also happy to discuss this with you when you get in touch.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of each consultation. I accept payment by credit card and debit card. Where a Medicare rebate applies (eligibility for rebates is your responsibility), I can assist with processing this on your behalf at the time of payment, making the process as seamless as possible.
Cancellation Policy
I understand that life can be unpredictable. If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, I kindly ask that you provide at least 48 hours’ notice. This allows me to offer the time to another person who may be waiting for support. Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a cancellation fee, which will be discussed with you at the outset of our work together.
